Covers with tag lines

Cover Tag Lines: Yes or No?

After completing the cover in Photoshop, I started doing a lot of thinking and research on tag lines for novel covers, and have come to the conclusion that I need one.

This is how the cover looks now.

As an author releasing my first novel, I need all the help I can get. Every piece of enticement on a cover is worth it if it gets a reader closer to taking a peek inside. Below are some of the tag lines I’ve come up with, as well as some that were suggested to me by my editor. These are raw, without much any editing. Call it brainstorming without throwing anything away. Many are crap, as to be expected.

  1. One bad choice can kill.
  2. Payback is a bitch.
  3. She’d kill for a better life.
  4. Two sisters, one lives.
  5. She fought to get in, but can she get out?
  6. Her choice. Will she live or die?

Without knowing too much about the story, which ones would pique your interest?
