Well, soon it will be on. At midnight tonight, my first free giveaway for Tied will go live. And there were a lot of details to arrange.
The first task on my list was writing a blog post about my process. Since you’re reading this, I’ve completed that task. It was the easiest, by far, since I’m used to the blogging process and how to go about it.
What I had never done before was schedule a whack of social media messages to coincide with a specific time frame. Overall, it’s not difficult, but it does take time to prepare all the tweets and graphics that go with it, and identify all the sites, users and hashtags I wanted to target. Right now, I’ll be posting to Facebook, Twitter, Reddit and LinkedIn.
After researching an optimal time frame, I’ll be breaking my giveaways into groupings of two days. I’m targeting sites and methods that are free right now, because sites like BookBub, while effective, are out of my budget at the moment. I’m also separating each campaign as I go so I can see what works and what doesn’t.
I’m making use of Crowdfire, Hootsuite, Manageflitter and Ritetag to determine the best content for my tweets.
I’ll report back when the dust settles! 🙂
