I just finished the first draft of my next book, Vermin. This time is always a little bitter sweet for me, since it’s time to step away from the story and characters that have grown on me for the past four and a half months. I’ll miss them.
I’ve started my second, deeper editing pass on Tied, where I flesh out more detail and fix problem areas. I understand what didactic writing is, but it wasn’t until I was a fifth of the way through when I realized something.
I got my manuscript for Tied back from my editor on Friday. I took a quick flip through and it looks like I’ve got some work ahead of me. I expected nothing less.
